Updating the KDE was really a terrible work

I download the packages of KDE3.4.1.
When I installed the 'arts' package error appeared:

There's the kdesupport library which is supposed to have everything needed by
the kdelibs to build - I don't know if it's possible to get an rpm of that.
All those messages look a bit confusing. I'll cc this to the
kde-***@mail.kde.org list as it's the sort of issue someone there might
know about.

mixing rh90 and rhel4 packages is very unlikely to work, as you just noticed.

Indeed. I would suggest you upgrade your whole system to Fedora Core 4
or some other recent Linux distro like Debian Sarge or Mandrake 10.x
